Kaycee's 1st Birthday!

I can't believe my little baby girl is already 1 year old!  Seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hosptial.  We had friends and family over to celebrate and boy was Kaycee spoiled.  She got a number 1 birthday cake that was made up of cupcakes, (I'll post pics later), and it turned out so great.  She received toys and cute, cute clothes!  She started walking about a week before her birthday and now we can't get her to slow down!  She doesn't even crawl any more, she just stands up and takes off.  She is such a great child and is almost always so happy.  She was been sleeping through the night ever since she was six weeks old and if she does wake up she'll drink a bottle and go right back to sleep.  She is talking so much and starting to form little sentences, she is going to be a genius, lol!  I love her with all my heart and wouldn't change anything in my life.  I am so lucky and truly blessed.

Love this girl with all my heart!  Happy 1st Birthday baby girl!!!

Some pics

Cody and I were able to go to Vegas before Christmas and watch Utah play Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl.  Sadly, Utah did not win but we still had a fun time in Vegas.  While we were gone, my good friend Sarita watched Kaycee and here are a few pictures from her sleep over.  Thank you so much Sarita for helping us out. I really, really appreciated it!

I think that she had a great time and she loves being around other kids!  Thanks again Sarita, Ken, Braxton, and Alex for helping out with Kaycee!

Christmas time...

I really haven't been in the Christmas spirit this year but I finally got around to getting my Christmas decorations out this past weekend and it seemed to liven my mood.  It just seems like every year, Christmas just keeps coming faster and faster.  And now with Kaycee, time is just flying by, especially since her birthday is a month after Christmas.  That is still hard for me to believe!  Any way, things are starting to turn around and I'm now getting excited to have Kaycee open presents even though she's not going to understand what it all means.  It'll be more for us this year than her.  I'm also starting to get excited because Cody and I are going to take a trip to Las Vegas just before Christmas for a mini vacation and to see the Utah Utes plat Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl.  I can't wait!

Here are just a few pics of Kaycee and me:

Just reminiscing...

Is Thanksgiving really next Thursday?!?!?  Seriously, where has this year gone?  All I can think about is that in 4 days Kaycee will be 10 months old, then in a month will be Christmas and then she'll turn 1!  She is getting so big and moving all over the place, she is now standing all on her own and I just know that any day now she'll take her first steps!  I just hope I'm home to see it.  Working nights has been rough this time around, don't get me wrong I love working graves but now with Kaycee it's so different.  I'm not able to just sleep in and get the sleep I need except for on Wednesdays when my wonderful in-laws watch Kaycee all day for us.  But I have realized that I am able to function with 4-5 hrs of sleep.  But those 4-5 hrs have to be without interruption or else I am super ornery!  Poor little Kaycee, she's going to think that all her mom does is sleep, lol.  I just keep thinking about how I was pregnant this time last year and I could wait until she got here.  We still hadn't officially decided on a name (which by the way I think is one of the hardest things to do, pick a name for someone else) and I was leaning towards Brooklyn and Cody wanted to name her Ashley.  When we first found out we were going to have a baby we picked out the boys name right away, Carson.  But if it was a girl we were totally stumped!  So I pretty much knew that we were going to have a girl because we couldn't come up with anything.  Then Cody was looking through our atlas, don't ask me why, when he came across a city named Kaycee in Wyoming.  We both loved the name and kept in the back of our minds and when she was born it was clear that she was a Kaycee.  I love her so much and am truly blessed to have her in my life.  Here is a cute some little pictures of her when she was first born.  Love my little ladybug!!!

Little Stinker

Kaycee was not happy with her Halloween costume (she was a skunk!).  It lasted all of maybe 10-15 mins at a time on her.  But I think she looked very sweet!

Here's a few pictures of her in a little Halloween outfit:
